ETC… This exquisite coffee comes to us from the COMSA cooperative in Honduras. Formed in 2000 when 62 farmers banded together to find ways to market their coffee to more international buyers at a higher price, COMSA became organic certified in 2001 and fair-trade certified in 2006. These certifications have allowed members of the cooperative to receive premium prices for their work which they have re-invested in education throughout their communities. COMSA pays teachers’ salaries, purchases school supplies, and has constructed kitchens in the local schools so that meals can be provided for the students who attend.
