ETC… This coffee comes from the Kayon Mountain Coffee Farm, owned and operated by Ismael Hassen Aredo and his family since 2012 in the Guji zone of the Shakiso district in Ethiopia. Ismael is meticulous about not only the structure and management of the farm itself but also the infrastructure, harvesting and processing. Kayon Mountain Farm uses shade from acacia and other indigenous trees to protect the coffee while it’s growing and to fertilize the soil naturally. The farm is staffed by 25 permanent full-time employees and 300 seasonal employees; all of whom are paid higher than normal wages in order to compete with employers in a nearby mining village.
