ETC… This mircolot is harvested by local farmers from the area surrounding the Masha washing station in the Kayanza region of Burundi. Each producer farms only about .11 hectares of land (about ¼ of an acre) and is reliant on the sale of their coffee for their livelihood. Because producers in this small country - barely the size of Maryland – farm on such small plots of land themselves, mircolots are near impossible to source from a single producer or single farm. Instead, they are selected from the daylots at washing stations based on cup quality with only the highest scoring beans earning the title of “microlot”.
